To provide a verified campus experience, we collect your university email address (.edu), precise location data, and basic profile info. We also collect device identifiers, diagnostics, and usage data to keep the app secure, reliable, and fast.
The IRL Promise:
We do not sell your personal data. We do not track you outside of campus boundaries. Your data is used to make campus life better, period.
02. Location Sharing
CampusIRL uses "Snap-to-Location" technology. Your precise location is used to cluster your posts into campus buildings or drop local pulses.

03. Marketplace Safety
Interactions in the Marketplace and Bounties sections are logged to prevent fraud and ensure student safety. While we verify .edu emails, we encourage all exchanges to happen in designated safe zones.
04. Your Rights
You have the absolute right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. If you graduate or leave, your data leaves with you.
To delete your account in-app, tap the profile icon (top right), then the settings icon (top right), and choose Delete Account to confirm.

- To improve performance and reliability: Diagnostics and device identifiers help us detect crashes, fix bugs, and keep the Service secure.

Account Information: Retained for the duration of your account relationship plus up to 24 months after account closure.
Diagnostics: Retained for a limited period to debug and improve the Service.

We use third-party Service Providers to maintain and improve our Service, including:

- Google Analytics/Firebase: We may use these tools to monitor usage.
- Push Notifications: We use device tokens to deliver notifications you opt in to receive.
6. Your California Privacy Rights (CalOPPA & CCPA)
Since we operate in California, you have specific rights:
- Right to Know: You may request details about the categories of personal information we collect.
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information by emailing support@campusirl.com.
- Do Not Track: We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Service is intended for users who are at least 17 years old (with regional exceptions where local law sets a higher minimum age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below the minimum age requirement for their region.
8. Account Deletion
You can delete your account in-app by tapping the profile icon (top right), then the settings icon (top right), and selecting Delete Account. After you confirm in the popup, your account will be deleted. You can also request deletion by emailing support@campusirl.com.
